Indian film actor Kamal Haasan is going to enter the digital space by launching his collectables or NFT, according to an announcement on November 07.
On Sunday, Haasan celebrated his 67th birthday and announced to introduce a museum in an upcoming metaverse game from Fantico, an India-based NFT platform.
While making an announcement, Haasan said, “I am excited to explore the emerging intersection of the digital and physical world, which is now becoming popularly known as metaverse. My life’s journey of over six decades will be my offering for this metaverse.”
In the recent time period, It has been seen that more and more people are joining the digital space and spending big money on NFTs.
Recently, several Indian celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan joined the digital metaverse to introduce their own NFT. Additionally, many cricketers and leagues like the Indian Super League (ISL) also introduce their NFTs in the market.
Abhayanad Singh, the founder of Fantico, released a public statement, informing that initially, the platform will release various digital collectibles of Haasan including his posters, avatars and videos.
He further mentioned, “Over the next few months, we are looking at the launch of the game-based metaverse, where Haasan will have his own world, his personal museum.”
Haasan planned to introduce his own digital collectible for his fans around the world. The digital collectible will help them in exploring Haasan’s world and allow them to interact with him.
The legendary Indian film actor is very popular for his experiments with genres, visual styles and technology in the movie.
In September, American Rapper Snoop Dogg also entered the NFT metaverse through his virtual mansion on The Sandbox.
Singh, in his announcement further mentioned that Fantico is planning to collaborate with more actors, sportsperson and studios to be part of the metaverse.
Bollywood Industry seems to be taking more interest in this new trend. A week ago, Amitabh Bachchan’s digital collectible series was out for auction and generated $966,000. The most popular and successful NFT, during the sale, was the Madhushala, which got bids worth over Rs.5.5 crores.
According to a report published last month, Salman Khan also joined the metaverse. The Bollywood superstar collaborated with BollyCoin, a Bollywood NFT marketplace, to introduce his own NFT collection in the market.
As per the statement released by the company, it was able to sell 1 million tokens within the first three hours of the launch.
The Bollywood actor also joined hands with the short video app Chingari and launched its crypto token $GARI.
