Coinbase expands its business to India, announced Brian Armstrong, the CEO of crypto exchange, on July 02.
The co-founder of the crypto company has recently tweeted, “Coinbase is building out an office in India! Amazing team already in place – come join us.”

Soon after he made the announcement, Armstrong received more positive responses from his audience than expected. His tweet got almost 5000 likes, around 1000 retweets and over 300 comments.
However, some of the comments were from countries like Malaysia and Africa, which ask the CEO of Coinbase to expand his business to their region.
Armstrong also linked a blog post titled ‘Build Crypto Out Of India’ in his tweet. The blog post written by Pankaj Gupta, VP Engineering and Site Lead India, highlighted the future plans of Coinbase regarding its Indian office.
The post by the company share its future plans and ambitions in India. It also discusses, what the company thinks about this hub in general.
Gupta, while explaining the blog post, stated that presently the situation of cryptocurrency at the world level is way better than it was earlier.
Now, India has also introduced its native projects like Polygon and Instadapp, which have helped the crypto industry of the country in its growth.
Further, he added, “It is well known that India has a vibrant, world-class community of software engineers, technology builders, and entrepreneurs…we are pleasantly surprised at growing expertise in crypto and blockchain technologies as well.”
Gupta, in his statement, has mentioned that Coinbase is fully committed to expanding its business to India and it is further planning to appoint hundreds of engineers in the near team.
Apart from the engineering team, the company is also looking for a product and design team, and a support function team.
The notification released by Coinbase specifies that it will have a team in all major areas including infrastructure, cloud, platform, payments, crypto, blockchain, and many more, in India.
Gupta stated that the company is also looking to add and hire new talents, so anyone interested to join Coinbase could directly contact him.
The crypto exchange is also planning to hand over the duties of its Indian branch to local engineering directors so that they could function independently.
