Raftaar Becomes First Indian Artist To Accept Crypto-Payments

Indian Rapper Raftaar is now accepting crypto payment as a fee for his performance. He is the first Indian artist to accept cryptocurrency instead of fiat currency.

“I’ve always been an ardent admirer of blockchain technology. I’ve always wondered why artists and managers alike haven’t explored the potential of this disruptive medium. Nevertheless, I’ve finally taken the baby steps in this direction and all the credit goes to my manager, Ankit Khanna for making this dream a reality for me,” said Raftaar.

Raftaar has accepted the crypto payment for a virtual event which will be organized in Canada in the second week of July. It will be more like a private gathering of 100 people.

As per the report, Ankit Khanna, Raftaar’s business partner, has been involved in crypto transactions for quite a long time.

While sharing his views on cryptocurrency, Khanna said, “In my opinion, music will be one of the first industries to be completely and thoroughly disrupted through the blockchain. The artist can now go directly to the public in every single way without the need of middlemen.”

Khanna felt happy as his long-time business associate Raftaar has joined him in this crypto journey.

However, there are many global artists like 50 Cent, Mariah Carey, G-Eazy, Sia and many more who support cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
